TESSIE DONG
Tessie's work embodies a symbiosis of organic chance and composition. The interplay of space and form, of natural line and industrial material, of harmony and tension. It is hard at times to delineate where her pieces start and stop, or where her work and life intersect.
There is nothing about her work that is not part of some vast composition: her garden, her house, her studio, her life. Accepting no limitations ia a new technique, material or medium is required to address a given design challenge, she sets about making herself an expert. From weaving to welding, from stained glass to neon, Tessie has mastered all of these disciplines achieving a poetic balance of line, color, light and composition. |
